What is My Phone? — Identify Your Phone Model
Why Knowing Your Exact Phone Model Matters
Most people can name their phone brand — Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme, iPhone — but the exact model is where things get fuzzy. Is it the Galaxy A14 or A14 5G? The Redmi Note 13 or Note 13 Pro? The OnePlus Nord CE 3 or CE 3 Lite?
That single difference matters more than you'd think. Two phones from the same series can have completely different camera cutouts, button placements, and dimensions. A back cover designed for the Note 13 simply will not fit a Note 13 Pro — the camera holes won't line up, the volume buttons won't align, and the case will rock on a flat surface.
This page exists to remove that guesswork. The tool above reads your device identity directly from your browser and matches it against our database of thousands of phone models sold in India. In under a second, you'll know exactly what you're holding — and you can shop cases that are guaranteed to fit.
How Our Phone Detector Works
When you visit any website, your browser shares basic information about your device — things like operating system, browser version, and on most Android phones, the actual hardware model. We use a standard web API called userAgentData to read your phone model name, then look it up in our internal database to fetch the marketing name, launch year, original price, and resale value.
The whole process happens in your browser. We don't store your device information, we don't track you across sites, and we don't ask for any permissions. If detection works, you'll see a card with your phone's full name, age, launch price, and a curated list of cases built for it.
Why iPhone Detection Is Different
If you're on an iPhone, you'll notice the tool asks you to pick your model manually. That's not a bug — it's an Apple decision. iOS deliberately hides the exact iPhone model from websites for privacy reasons. Every iPhone, from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, reports itself simply as "iPhone."
This is actually one of the better privacy choices Apple has made, but it does mean we can't auto-detect your model. The manual picker on this page is built specifically for iPhone users — search your model and we'll instantly load matching cases.
What to Do If Detection Fails
A small percentage of phones won't auto-detect. This usually happens for one of three reasons:
- You're on an older browser. Browsers released before 2021 don't support the model-detection API. Updating your browser usually fixes it.
- Your phone is from a regional brand. Some smaller manufacturers don't report a recognisable model name.
- Privacy settings are blocking it. Some privacy-focused browsers like Brave or Firefox Focus block this API by default.
If detection fails, scroll up and use the manual search box. You can also find your exact model name in your phone's settings:
- Android: Settings → About phone → Model name
- iPhone: Settings → General → About → Model Name
- Xiaomi/Redmi: Settings → About phone → All specs → Model
- Samsung: Settings → About phone → Model name
- OnePlus: Settings → About device → Device → Model name
- Realme: Settings → About device → Model
What the Detection Card Tells You
Once your phone is identified, you'll see more than just the name. The card shows:
- Launch year and price — Useful for understanding how old your phone is and how much value it's lost over time.
- Estimated resale value — Pulled from current Cashify market data so you know what your phone is worth today.
- Live depreciation ticker — A real-time counter showing how much value your phone has lost since launch. Phones depreciate roughly 30–40% in their first year alone, and a case can protect that resale value.
- Recommended cases — Direct links to back covers, glass cases, and metal cases designed specifically for your model.
Choosing the Right Type of Case for Your Phone
Once you know your model, the next decision is what kind of case to put on it. Here's a quick breakdown of the three case categories we make:
Back covers are the everyday workhorse. They're soft or hard polycarbonate cases with printed or embossed designs. Best for daily use, lightweight, and the most affordable option. If you're not sure what to pick, start here.
Glass cases combine a tempered-glass back panel with a soft TPU bumper. They look premium, feel cool to the touch, and resist scratches better than printed plastic. A good upgrade for flagship phones where you want the case itself to look high-end.
Metal cases are the most protective option, with a CNC-machined aluminium frame and reinforced corners. They add weight and bulk but offer real drop protection. Worth considering if you've broken phones before.
The detector above will only show you case types that are actually available for your specific model. If you have a flagship like the iPhone 16 Pro or OnePlus 12, you'll likely see all three.
Why Phone-Specific Cases Beat Universal Cases
You'll occasionally see "universal" or "one-size-fits-most" cases sold cheaply online. Avoid them. A case that's even 2mm off in any dimension creates real problems:
- The camera lens sits flush against the case, scratching it every time you put the phone down.
- Buttons are misaligned, making volume and power inputs frustrating.
- Charging ports don't line up cleanly, so cables don't seat properly.
- The case rocks or wobbles on flat surfaces.
Every case sold on Casekaro is cut to the exact specifications of one specific phone model. That's why identifying your phone correctly matters before you buy.
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is your phone detector?
For Android devices, accuracy is very high. The tool reads your phone's hardware identifier directly. The exceptions are mostly older phones, regional brands without standard identifiers, and browsers that block the API.
Does this work on iPhones?
Auto-detection doesn't work on iPhones because Apple hides the model name for privacy reasons. We provide a manual iPhone picker on this page that lets you select your model from a searchable list.
Is my data being collected?
No. The detection happens entirely in your browser. We don't log your device information, we don't share it with third parties, and there's no account or sign-in required.
What if my phone isn't in your database?
We add new phones every week as they launch in India. If your model isn't found, you can search by brand and we'll show you the closest matching cases. You can also email us the exact model name and we'll add it.
Will the cases really fit my phone?
Yes. Every Casekaro case is designed for one specific phone model with precise camera, button, and port cutouts. We don't sell universal-fit cases.
How fresh is the resale value data?
Resale prices are updated regularly using Cashify's current buyback rates, which reflect real market value at the time you visit.
Why does my phone show a "flagship" or "rare" badge?
Flagship badges appear on top-tier phones (iPhone Pro models, Galaxy Ultra, OnePlus flagships, etc.). Rare badges appear on uncommon models — phones with smaller user bases in India. They're meant to be fun, not technical specifications.
Can I share my detection result with someone?
The detection runs locally each time, so there's no shareable link. But you can take a screenshot and send it. Better yet, share this page with someone who needs help finding their phone model.
